Kosta Browne has achieved notable advancement over the past 25 years, evolving from a petite winery in Sonoma County into a respected producer of exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The founders, Dan Kosta and Michael Browne, initially contributed just $10 each from their restaurant earnings to establish their first batch of Pinot Noir in 1998. Since then, the brand has gained renown for its top-notch, terroir-centric wines, expanding into areas such as Anderson Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands.
Under the guidance of winemaker Julien Howsepian, Kosta Browne has persistently pushed limits. They recently reached a landmark by crafting their inaugural vintage from Burgundy, France, and also ventured into the Oregon market to create their initial Appellation Series wine. Despite this expansion, the team remains small, devoted, and profoundly dedicated to maintaining a tradition of innovation and progress.
For those interested in experiencing Kosta Browne wines, the tasting room is located in Sebastopol, California, at The Barlow, a hub for specialized shopping, art displays, and exceptional culinary and libations.
