The USDA reveals that Americans devour 50 billion burgers yearly. Comedian, actor, and now an entrepreneur in the food industry, Kevin Hart selects a more nourishing flexitarian diet. Noting the scarcity of plant-based fast food options in Southern California, he teams up with a consortium of experts to establish a fast-casual plant-forward dining experience offering healthier burgers, sandwiches, fries, tater tots, soft drinks, and milkshakes.
Branded after Kevin’s last name and his dedication to a healthier lifestyle, Hart House is represented by a heart shape with the letter ‘H’ adjacent to it. His aim is to positively influence individuals and the surroundings, striving to introduce “Plant-Based to the People.”
Subsequent to the inauguration of his first Hart House in Westchester near LAX in 2022, the crew extends to Monrovia. Following that, they disclose a third outlet at the core of Hollywood, situated on Sunset Blvd. and Highland Ave. Situated opposite the distinguished Hollywood High School and a Chick-fil-A, this spot features a drive-thru for a convenient and healthier dine-out experience.
A recent analysis suggests that if residents in the Los Angeles metropolitan region consumed a plant-based alternative burger once a week, it would result in the preservation of a substantial volume of greenhouse gases, akin to 3 billion miles driven in a car, and up to 7.5 billion passenger miles on a plane. These figures underline the significant influence of seemingly trivial choices, such as dietary preferences.
In celebration of Earth Day, Hart House unveiled a communal Inner-City Arts initiative intended to educate the broader Los Angeles populace about the potential benefits of a plant-based diet on the environment. Three alumni of the Inner City Art’s Work of Art college preparation program crafted digital artworks printed on canvases now showcased at different Hart House locations.
Visitors at Hart House will savor lively tunes playing in the background. A QR code within reach near the organic soda dispenser empowers diners to access Kevin Hart’s Spotify playlist on their personal gadgets.
According to Marcus Byrd, the Brand and Marketing Manager at Hart House, the sandwiches there feature two distinct plant-based patties. Byrd remarked, ‘These patties are not Beyond Meat or Impossible; they are freshly formulated in Canada and Brazil.’
One of the most favored items on the menu is the Double Burg’r, consisting of two savory plant-based patties, crisp lettuce, sliced tomatoes, grilled onions, and a dollop of Hart House Signature Sauce.
During the summer months, the ‘Summer Lovin’ combo special presents a barbecue sandwich, crispy nuggets, and lemonade.
Distinguished sides include fries, tater tots, or a petite kale salad. Byrd noted, ‘For customers craving a combination of fries and tots, they can order ‘Frots’ along with one of our signature sauces.’
In addition to organic fruit juices and soft drinks, Hart House serves milk-free milkshakes. Byrd accentuated, ‘Our Oreo shake is extremely sought after.’
To mark the opening of the third Hart House branch on May 23, 2023, Kevin Hart and his team affiliated with the Assistance League of Los Angeles, donating 10% of the day’s earnings to this admirable community collaborator.
Driven by the realization that one in four children in Los Angeles lives below the poverty threshold, they chose this noteworthy organization to effectuate a significant change.
The Assistance League of Los Angeles endeavors to positively impact the lives of LA youth by providing essential services and fostering enriching community programs. Their mission is to elevate children and support them in achieving their full potential as they evolve into adulthood.
Hart House aspires to metamorphose eating habits by offering alternatives that can cultivate a constructive and healthful impact on individuals, communities, and the world.
