Having a desire to alter their lifestyle, Jan and Cynthia van den Maagdenberg, a Dutch couple with an enterprising nature, pursued their perfect place to reside.
They discovered it in the south of France at WAYA a Domaine Saint Domingue, a serene sanctuary near Narbonne in the Aude region, positioned between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea. The estate flaunts 12 hectares of Mediterranean gardens and an 8-room boutique hotel exclusively for grown-ups, creating an authentic ambiance.
Our accommodation, Nr. 6, situated on the first level, was commodious and provided French windows with vistas of the gardens and one of the property’s two outdoor swimming pools, one of which is heated. The room was furnished with tall walnut wardrobes, a hanging wall ornament, woven baskets, floor-to-ceiling drapes, a framed full-length mirror, and a vibrant floral woven rug. The bathroom showcased twin wash-hand basins with framed mirrors and a delightful walk-in shower. Slippers and robes were supplied.
Aside from the outdoor swimming pools, visitors can also relish activities such as a pétanque court and complimentary bicycles. The lakeside property encompasses a library and offers meditation and yoga classes.
WAYA a Domaine Saint Domingue is also accessible for exclusive rental by factions for personal or professional functions and arranges ‘yoga and happiness’ retreats, featuring daily vegetarian meals, massages, and airport transfers.
The hotel’s location enables guests to discover the region’s captivating fishing villages, affluent history, and extensive tranquil beaches. Moreover, there are diverse activities to partake in, including horseback riding, exploring nearby medieval villages, cycling along the canals, and visiting the fortified city of Carcassonne.
