Lexus has included chef, food establishment owner, and TV figure Shota Nakajima to its revered lineup of Lexus Culinary Masters. In his latest capacity, Nakajima will work as a brand representative, curating extraordinary experiences and advocating for Lexus’ principles of advancement, omotenashi, and expert craftsmanship.
Nakajima received instruction from Chef Yasuhiko Sakamoto, who holds a Michelin Star rating, in Osaka, Japan, prior to introducing his mentor’s approach to hospitality and Japanese cuisine to Seattle. He established his eatery, Adana, at 25 years old and subsequently broadened his culinary ventures with Taku, showcasing Japanese fried chicken, and Kobo Pizza, offering Detroit-style pizzas with Japanese influence.
Kevin Higgins, Lexus general manager of marketing, shared his enthusiasm for Nakajima joining the Lexus family, emphasizing the chef’s skill in integrating traditional Japanese flavors into contemporary dishes. Nakajima himself is grateful for being acknowledged among other culinary innovators and eagerly anticipates fortifying his bond with the Lexus brand.
As a Lexus Culinary Master, Nakajima will collaborate with the brand on various promotional campaigns and gastronomy and oenology gatherings. He has previously represented the brand at the Hamburger Hop event at Chicago Gourmet and secured both the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice titles for his Osaka Burger.
Nakajima now becomes part of an illustrious group of culinary professionals in the Lexus Culinary Masters initiative, which already includes James Beard Award-winning chefs and Michelin star-recognized chefs.
