For those in the know, one of the best times to visit the coastal peninsula that spans 65 miles into the Atlantic Ocean is right now. From biking the 10.7-mile Shining Sea Bikeway and exploring secluded beaches to enjoying a wine pairing dinner or perhaps a kayaking tour, Cape Cod’s fall season is a must for any traveler.
One of the best spots to enjoy a quick weekend getaway or staycation is at AutoCamp Cape Cod.
Tucked away on the Upper Cape about a 90-minute drive south of Boston, the Falmouth property offers the opportunity to stay in a luxury Airstream. Offering an elevated form of camping (think private bathrooms and kitchenettes), this might be the best way to enjoy some fun for the whole family.
The year-round Instagrammable property boasts 88 Airstreams, 10 safari-style canvas tents, and 10 tiny homes (known as X Suites). The Cape Cod spot was the company’s first East Coast location and third opening in the collection.
Each accommodation is strategically placed to offer guests the right amount of privacy. The 31-foot Airstream’s surprisingly spacious interior features heating and air conditioning, a kitchenette outfitted with a small refrigerator, microwave, French press, and dishware, along with a spa-inspired bathroom with walk-in shower. The queen bedroom has a flat screen TV and is large enough to accommodate two guests while a sleep sofa in the living area can easily convert to a bed for larger families.
Each luxe accommodation also features a fire pit for making s’mores along with a private patio designed for relaxing right outside the unit. The pet-friendly property also has an enormous communal Clubhouse with midcentury modern lounge area complete with indoor fireplace where guests can enjoy complimentary morning coffee and granola to get the day started off right. There is a small retail shop located here as well that sells everything from snacks and drinks to souvenirs, s’mores kits and wood bundles.
AutoCamp Cape Cod is located right along the Shining Sea Bikeway and offers complimentary bikes to explore 10.7 miles of natural beauty that spans from North Falmouth passing by cranberry bogs and a bird sanctuary to Woods Hole. There are plenty of activities to enjoy on property as well. Seasonal experiences include kayak tours, yoga and paddleboard classes, stargazing, and acoustic music by the fire.
AutoCamp has other locations in California, New York, and Utah. Keep an eye out next year for openings in Texas and North Carolina.
