When a manufacturer conceives a high-performance vehicle, it typically arrives with two seats or more. We are of the opinion that the electrifying experience should be enjoyed with others.
Nevertheless, there are occasions when an individual desires to completely immerse themselves independently. This is where single-seaters like the Mono from BAC step in.
Neil Briggs, the co-founder and leader of product development at the company, affirms that “Mono represents an authentic BAC supercar – it embodies the common – yet not easily attainable – characteristics that constitute the BAC DNA such as high performance, lightweight engineering, dynamic chassis, optimized suspension, and an emotive design.”
In simpler terms, it’s a road-legal speedster.
The Mono can be compared to a Formula 1 car with its open cockpit, seating for one, featherweight construction, and potent engine. It is furnished with a Mountune-built 2.5-liter inline-four engine that generates 311 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. BAC mates it with a six-speed racing-spec sequential gearbox.
According to tests, the Mono can purportedly accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.7 seconds. This remarkable performance is enabled by its 1,257 lbs weight.
BAC has fine-tuned the Mono’s weight distribution, with 41% at the front and 59% at the back, to amplify its handling and responsiveness.
The utilization of “world-leading graphene-infused carbon panels” by BAC substantially contributes to the car’s weight reduction.
The assertive aero setup of the Mono guarantees stability at high velocities. Its capabilities are on par with the track-only Mono R, yet with the necessary approval for street usage.
The Mono is outfitted with five twin-spoked rims and Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires explicitly tailored for this vehicle. Production is presently ongoing, and interested customers can now submit their preorders. While the price remains undisclosed, it is anticipated to be premium
