Los Angeles inhabitants can now relish outstanding French cuisine without the necessity to travel far, thanks to the recent launch of the Amour restaurant in West Hollywood.
This delightful Parisian Bistro is located in the former Dominick’s spot. Patrons can access it through the compact library where they can choose a book and leave a message for their companions and friends.
The interior has been completely redesigned to manifest a romantic and French atmosphere, incorporating hardwood floors imported from Paris, dark brown leather bar stools, vintage wall fixtures, elegant upholstered dining seats and booths, a solitary candle embellishing each table, soft lighting, and exquisite cutlery and tableware.
The outdoor patio emanates the same intimacy and romance, embellished with brick walls, comfortable banquettes and cozy alcove seating, a charming fireplace, and an assortment of plants and foliage.
Head chef Dany Chavez-Bello, previously from Spain’s El Bulli and Bouley in NYC, introduces a variety of French and Japanese fusion dishes.
If your budget permits, contemplate enjoying the Chef’s Eight Course Tasting Menu, which presently comprises a remarkable Caledonia Blue Prawn Carpaccio served with leche de tigre sauce; a smoked Chwanmushi flan in truffle dashi, accompanied with sea urchin and trout roe; a forager dish featuring mushrooms; a Comte cloud paired with poached eggs and caviar; lemongrass-infused lobster; lavender-seasoned duck breast accompanied by carrot puree and Romanesco; Wagyu beef complemented with beet puree, allumette, mille feuille, and Basque cheesecake. As a surprising treat, the chef also presents an exceptional chocolate mousse for dessert.
The a la carte menu presents an array of delicious dishes including celery root carpaccio, Wagyu steak tartare, pumpkin soup, fennel and endive salads, lobster tagliatelle, truffle butter pasta, sole, steak au poivre, lamb saddle with spinach, boeuf bourguignon, and steak served with assorted mushrooms and a truffle glaze.
Every item on the tasting menu was remarkable and attractively presented. We had the pleasure of speaking with the charming founder Thomas Fuks, who, alongside his wife Abbie, crafted the luxurious interior. Fuks has accomplished significant success in bringing a gracefully sophisticated French bistro to WeHo. Amour is an excellent option for a Valentine’s dinner, an intimate birthday celebration, a gathering with friends in a large booth, or simply a delightful French meal.
Amour is situated at 8715 Beverly Blvd. in West Hollywood and operates from 5:30pm to 11pm from Tuesday to Saturday.
