Adding Sting Approved Amante 1530 To Your Bar Cart Could Be A Good Choice

A new Italian Amaro aperitivo is coming to the United States. Amante 1530 is a twist on a classic Italian Amaro and was created by Sting and Trudie Styler at their Tuscan estate, Il Palagio. The idea was conceived during a discussion amongst friends including Ana Rosenstein, Richard Kirshenbaum, Barry Rosenstein, Len Tessler, Stuart Ellman, Sarah Foley, Mark Hauser, and Michael Kassan. The name Amante, which means lover in Italian, was chosen after drawing the lover card from a deck of tarot cards at Il Palagio. The number 1530 represents the founding date of the estate.

According to Ana Rosenstein, the CEO of Amante 1530, the brand was created to offer an authentic and versatile Italian aperitivo that breaks boundaries. Amante 1530 can be enjoyed in various ways, such as in a spritz, cocktail, neat, or on the rocks. The goal was to create an Amaro that can be celebrated and enjoyed among friends and lovers.

The founders collaborated with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella, who works on Sting and Trudie’s Il Palagio estate wines, to create and produce Amante 1530. The final liquid was bottled at the Pallini Distillery, one of Rome’s oldest and most important distilleries.

Unlike other amaros on the market, Amante 1530 offers a unique flavor profile. It is light upon entry but unfolds across the palate with medium-bodied weight and presence. It has aromas of candied orange, oolong tea, ginger, honeysuckle, and baked apples. It has a balanced sweetness and vegetal bitterness, and its citrus flavors evolve over time. With a lower sugar content and a more subtle bitter finish, Amante 1530 is perfect for cocktails or sipping straight.

Amante 1530 is currently available in select retailers, bars, and restaurants in New York. It will soon be available in California and Florida. Try it in the Moonraker cocktail:
